Institutional Service
The Institute provided rehabilitation services in the following areas:
4. Prosthetic & Orthotic services:
The rehabilitation assistive aids / appliances were planned, designed, fabricated and modified and fitted to disabled taking into consideration of individual's requirement, at institute and outreach camps. Research, teaching / training and outreach service programs were part of aid services.
5. Socio - economic services:
For self - reliance & economic empowerment to the disabled, facilitation, counseling & guidance services were provided. The objective was to promote social acceptance / integration and mainstreaming of persons with disability. Services include individual, family and group counseling besides technical consultancy to NGOs.
Vocational training, self-employment guidance & facilitation services were provided. Institute, being a nodal agency for National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation, assists disabled in development of entrepreneurship.
Through 'Placement Cell' under department, employment registrations were also done to coordinate between individual and employer / employment agencies.
